Al-Mutaffifin 83:1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ1
Woe to those who give less [than due],
Wailul lil mutaffifeen
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-Mutaffifin 83:2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ2
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.
Allazeena izak taaloo 'alan naasi yastawfoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ3
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.
Wa izaa kaaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ4
Do they not think that they will be resurrected
Alaa yazunnu ulaaa'ika annahum mab'oosoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:5
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ5
For a tremendous Day -
Li Yawmin 'Azeem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:6
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ6
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?
Yawma yaqoomun naasu li Rabbil 'aalameen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:7
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍۢ7
No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.
Kallaaa inna kitaabal fujjaari lafee Sijjeen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:8
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌۭ8
And what can make you know what is sijjeen?
Wa maa adraaka maa Sijjeen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:9
كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ9
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.
Kitaabum marqoom
Al-Mutaffifin 83:10
وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ10
Woe, that Day, to the deniers,
Wailuny yawma'izil lil mukazzibeen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:11
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ11
Who deny the Day of Recompense.
Allazeena yukazziboona bi yawmid deen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:12
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ12
And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.
Wa maa yukazzibu biheee illaa kullu mu'tadin aseem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:13
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ13
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
Izaa tutlaa'alaihi aayaatunaa qaala asaateerul awwaleen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:14
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ14
No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.
Kallaa bal raana 'alaa quloobihim maa kaanoo yaksiboon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:15
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ15
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.
Kallaaa innahum 'ar Rabbihim yawma'izil lamah jooboon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:16
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ16
Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.
Summa innahum lasaa lul jaheem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:17
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ17
Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."
Summa yuqaalu haazal lazee kuntum bihee tukazziboon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:18
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ18
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.
Kallaaa inna kitaabal abraari lafee'Illiyyeen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:19
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ19
And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun?
Wa maaa adraaka maa 'Illiyyoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:20
كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ20
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed
Kitaabum marqoom
Al-Mutaffifin 83:21
يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ21
Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah].
Yashhadu hul muqarra boon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:22
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ22
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure
Innal abraara lafee Na'eem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:23
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ23
On adorned couches, observing.
'Alal araaa'iki yanzuroon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:24
تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ24
You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.
Ta'rifu fee wujoohihim nadratan na'eem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:25
يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍۢ مَّخْتُومٍ25
They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.
Yusqawna mir raheeqim makhtoom
Al-Mutaffifin 83:26
خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌۭ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ26
The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.
Khitaamuhoo misk; wa fee zaalika falyatanaafasil Mutanaafisoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:27
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ27
And its mixture is of Tasneem,
Wa mizaajuhoo min Tasneem
Al-Mutaffifin 83:28
عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ28
A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink.
'Ainaiy yashrabu bihal muqarraboon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:29
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ29
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
Innal lazeena ajramoo kaanoo minal lazeena aamanoo yadhakoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:30
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ30
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.
Wa izaa marroo bihim yataghaamazoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:31
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ31
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.
Wa izan qalabooo ilaaa ahlihimun qalaboo fakiheen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:32
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ32
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."
Wa izaa ra awhum qaalooo inna haaa'ulaaa'i ladaaal loon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:33
وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ33
But they had not been sent as guardians over them.
Wa maaa ursiloo 'alaihim haafizeen
Al-Mutaffifin 83:34
فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ34
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,
Fal yawmal lazeena aamanoo minal kuffaari yadhakoon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:35
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ35
On adorned couches, observing.
'Alal araaa'iki yanzuroon
Al-Mutaffifin 83:36
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ36
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
Hal suwwibal kuffaaru maa kaanoo yaf'aloon
