Al-Waaqia 56:1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ1
When the Occurrence occurs,
Izaa waqa'atil waaqi'ah
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Al-Waaqia 56:2
لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ2
There is, at its occurrence, no denial.
Laisa liwaq'atihaa kaazibah
Al-Waaqia 56:3
خَافِضَةٌۭ رَّافِعَةٌ3
It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].
Khafidatur raafi'ah
Al-Waaqia 56:4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّۭا4
When the earth is shaken with convulsion
Izaa rujjatil ardu rajjaa
Al-Waaqia 56:5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّۭا5
And the mountains are broken down, crumbling
Wa bussatil jibaalu bassaa
Al-Waaqia 56:6
فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءًۭ مُّنۢبَثًّۭا6
And become dust dispersing.
Fakaanat habaaa'am mumbassaa
Al-Waaqia 56:7
وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا ثَلَٰثَةًۭ7
And you become [of] three kinds:
Wa kuntum azwaajan salaasah
Al-Waaqia 56:8
فَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ8
Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Fa as haabul maimanati maaa as haabul maimanah
Al-Waaqia 56:9
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ9
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Wa as haabul mash'amati maaa as haabul mash'amah
Al-Waaqia 56:10
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ10
And the forerunners, the forerunners -
Wassaabiqoonas saabiqoon
Al-Waaqia 56:11
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ11
Those are the ones brought near [to Allah]
Ulaaa'ikal muqarraboon
Al-Waaqia 56:12
فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ12
In the Gardens of Pleasure,
Fee Jannaatin Na'eem
Al-Waaqia 56:13
ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ13
A [large] company of the former peoples
Sullatum minal awwaleen
Al-Waaqia 56:14
وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ14
And a few of the later peoples,
Wa qaleelum minal aa khireen
Al-Waaqia 56:15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ15
On thrones woven [with ornament],
'Alaa sururim mawdoonah
Al-Waaqia 56:16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ16
Reclining on them, facing each other.
Muttaki'eena 'alaihaa mutaqabileen
Al-Waaqia 56:17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ17
There will circulate among them young boys made eternal
Yatoofu 'alaihim wildaa num mukkhalladoon
Al-Waaqia 56:18
بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ18
With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring -
Bi akwaabinw wa abaareeq, wa kaasim mim ma'een
Al-Waaqia 56:19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ19
No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated -
Laa yusadda'oona 'anhaa wa laa yunzifoon
Al-Waaqia 56:20
وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ20
And fruit of what they select
Wa faakihatim mimmaa yatakhaiyaroon
Al-Waaqia 56:21
وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ21
And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.
Wa lahmi tairim mimmaa yashtahoon
Al-Waaqia 56:22
وَحُورٌ عِينٌۭ22
And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes,
Wa hoorun'een
Al-Waaqia 56:23
كَأَمْثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ23
The likenesses of pearls well-protected,
Ka amsaalil lu'lu'il maknoon
Al-Waaqia 56:24
جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ24
As reward for what they used to do.
Jazaaa'am bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon
Al-Waaqia 56:25
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا25
They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin -
Laa yasma'oona feehaa laghwanw wa laa taaseemaa
Al-Waaqia 56:26
إِلَّا قِيلًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا سَلَٰمًۭا26
Only a saying: "Peace, peace."
Illaa qeelan salaaman salaamaa
Al-Waaqia 56:27
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ27
The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?
Wa as haabul yameeni maaa as haabul Yameen
Al-Waaqia 56:28
فِى سِدْرٍۢ مَّخْضُودٍۢ28
[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed
Fee sidrim makhdood
Al-Waaqia 56:29
وَطَلْحٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ29
And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]
Wa talhim mandood
Al-Waaqia 56:30
وَظِلٍّۢ مَّمْدُودٍۢ30
And shade extended
Wa zillim mamdood
Al-Waaqia 56:31
وَمَآءٍۢ مَّسْكُوبٍۢ31
And water poured out
Wa maaa'im maskoob
Al-Waaqia 56:32
وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ كَثِيرَةٍۢ32
And fruit, abundant [and varied],
Wa faakihatin kaseerah
Al-Waaqia 56:33
لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍۢ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍۢ33
Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden,
Laa maqtoo'atinw wa laa mamnoo'ah
Al-Waaqia 56:34
وَفُرُشٍۢ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ34
And [upon] beds raised high.
Wa furushim marfoo'ah
Al-Waaqia 56:35
إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءًۭ35
Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation
Innaaa anshaanaahunna inshaaa'aa
Al-Waaqia 56:36
فَجَعَلْنَٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا36
And made them virgins,
Faja'alnaahunna abkaaraa
Al-Waaqia 56:37
عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًۭا37
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,
'Uruban atraabaa
Al-Waaqia 56:38
لِّأَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ38
For the companions of the right [who are]
Li as haabil yameen
Al-Waaqia 56:39
ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ39
A company of the former peoples
Sullatum minal awwa leen
Al-Waaqia 56:40
وَثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ40
And a company of the later peoples.
Wa sullatum minal aakhireen
Al-Waaqia 56:41
وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ41
And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left?
Wa as haabush shimaali maaa as haabush shimaal
Al-Waaqia 56:42
فِى سَمُومٍۢ وَحَمِيمٍۢ42
[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water
Fee samoominw wa hameem
Al-Waaqia 56:43
وَظِلٍّۢ مِّن يَحْمُومٍۢ43
And a shade of black smoke,
Wa zillim miny yahmoom
Al-Waaqia 56:44
لَّا بَارِدٍۢ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ44
Neither cool nor beneficial.
Laa baaridinw wa laa kareem
Al-Waaqia 56:45
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ45
Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence,
Innaahum kaanoo qabla zaalika mutrafeen
Al-Waaqia 56:46
وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ46
And they used to persist in the great violation,
Wa kaanoo yusirroona 'alal hinsil 'azeem
Al-Waaqia 56:47
وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ47
And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Wa kaanoo yaqooloona a'izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa izaaman'ainnaa lamab'oosoon
Al-Waaqia 56:48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ48
And our forefathers [as well]?"
Awa aabaaa'unal awwaloon
Al-Waaqia 56:49
قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْءَاخِرِينَ49
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples
Qul innal awwaleena wal aakhireen
Al-Waaqia 56:50
لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ50
Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Day."
Lamajmoo'oona ilaa meeqaati yawmim ma'loon
Al-Waaqia 56:51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ51
Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers,
summa innakum ayyuhad daaalloonal mukazziboon
Al-Waaqia 56:52
لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍۢ مِّن زَقُّومٍۢ52
Will be eating from trees of zaqqum
La aakiloona min shaja rim min zaqqoom
Al-Waaqia 56:53
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ53
And filling with it your bellies
Famaali'oona minhal butoon
Al-Waaqia 56:54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ54
And drinking on top of it from scalding water
Fashaariboona 'alaihi minal hameem
Al-Waaqia 56:55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ55
And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels.
Fashaariboona shurbal heem
Al-Waaqia 56:56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ56
That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense.
Haazaa nuzuluhum yawmad deen
Al-Waaqia 56:57
نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ57
We have created you, so why do you not believe?
Nahnu khalaqnaakum falaw laa tusaddiqoon
Al-Waaqia 56:58
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ58
Have you seen that which you emit?
Afara'aytum maa tumnoon
Al-Waaqia 56:59
ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُونَ59
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?
'A-antum takhluqoo nahooo am nahnul khaaliqoon
Al-Waaqia 56:60
نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ60
We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone
Nahnu qaddarnaa baina kumul mawta wa maa nahnu bimasbooqeen
Al-Waaqia 56:61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ61
In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know.
'Alaaa an nubaddila amsaalakum wa nunshi'akum fee maa laa ta'lamoon
Al-Waaqia 56:62
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ62
And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember?
Wa laqad 'alimtumun nash atal oolaa falaw laa tazakkaroon
Al-Waaqia 56:63
أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ63
And have you seen that [seed] which you sow?
Afara'aytum maa tahrusoon
Al-Waaqia 56:64
ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ64
Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower?
'A-antum tazra'oonahooo am nahnuz zaari'ooon
Al-Waaqia 56:65
لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَٰهُ حُطَٰمًۭا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ65
If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder,
Law nashaaa'u laja'al naahu hutaaman fazaltum tafakkahoon
Al-Waaqia 56:66
إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ66
[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt;
Innaa lamughramoon
Al-Waaqia 56:67
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ67
Rather, we have been deprived."
Bal nahnu mahroomoon
Al-Waaqia 56:68
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ68
And have you seen the water that you drink?
Afara'aytumul maaa'allazee tashraboon
Al-Waaqia 56:69
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ69
Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down?
'A-antum anzaltumoohu minal muzni am nahnul munziloon
Al-Waaqia 56:70
لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَٰهُ أُجَاجًۭا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ70
If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful?
Law nashaaa'u ja'alnaahu ujaajan falaw laa tashkuroon
Al-Waaqia 56:71
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ71
And have you seen the fire that you ignite?
Afara'aytumun naaral latee tooroon
Al-Waaqia 56:72
ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ72
Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer?
'A-antum anshaatum shajaratahaaa am nahnul munshi'oon
Al-Waaqia 56:73
نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَٰهَا تَذْكِرَةًۭ وَمَتَٰعًۭا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ73
We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers,
Nahnu ja'alnaahaa tazkira tanw wa mataa'al lilmuqween
Al-Waaqia 56:74
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ74
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Fasabbih bismi Rabbikal 'azeem
Al-Waaqia 56:75
۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ75
Then I swear by the setting of the stars,
Falaa uqsimu bimaawaa qi'innujoom
Al-Waaqia 56:76
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌۭ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ76
And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
Wa innahoo laqasamul lawta'lamoona'azeem
Al-Waaqia 56:77
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌۭ كَرِيمٌۭ77
Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an
Innahoo la quraanun kareem
Al-Waaqia 56:78
فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مَّكْنُونٍۢ78
In a Register well-protected;
Fee kitaabim maknoon
Al-Waaqia 56:79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ79
None touch it except the purified.
Laa yamassuhooo illal mutahharoon
Al-Waaqia 56:80
تَنزِيلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ80
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Tanzeelum mir Rabbil'aalameen
Al-Waaqia 56:81
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ81
Then is it to this statement that you are indifferent
Afabihaazal hadeesi antum mudhinoon
Al-Waaqia 56:82
وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ82
And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]?
Wa taj'aloona rizqakum annakum tukazziboon
Al-Waaqia 56:83
فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ83
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
Falaw laaa izaa balaghatil hulqoom
Al-Waaqia 56:84
وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ84
And you are at that time looking on -
Wa antum heena'izin tanzuroon
Al-Waaqia 56:85
وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ85
And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -
Wa nahnu aqrabu ilaihi minkum wa laakil laa tubsiroon
Al-Waaqia 56:86
فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ86
Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed,
Falaw laaa in kuntum ghira madeeneen
Al-Waaqia 56:87
تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ87
Bring it back, if you should be truthful?
Tarji'oonahaaa in kuntum saadiqeen
Al-Waaqia 56:88
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ88
And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah,
Fa ammaaa in kaana minal muqarrabeen
Al-Waaqia 56:89
فَرَوْحٌۭ وَرَيْحَانٌۭ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍۢ89
Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure.
Farawhunw wa raihaa nunw wa jannatu na'eem
Al-Waaqia 56:90
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ90
And if he was of the companions of the right,
Wa ammaaa in kaana min as haabil yameen
Al-Waaqia 56:91
فَسَلَٰمٌۭ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ91
Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right."
Fasalaamul laka min as haabil yameen
Al-Waaqia 56:92
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ92
But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,
Wa ammaaa in kaana minal mukazzibeenad daaalleen
Al-Waaqia 56:93
فَنُزُلٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ93
Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water
Fanuzulum min hameem
Al-Waaqia 56:94
وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ94
And burning in Hellfire
Wa tasliyatu jaheem
Al-Waaqia 56:95
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ95
Indeed, this is the true certainty,
Inna haaza lahuwa haqqul yaqeen
Al-Waaqia 56:96
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ96
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Fasabbih bismi rabbikal 'azeem
