51. Adh-Dhaariyat

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلذَّٰرِيَٰتِ ذَرْوًۭا1

By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing

Waz-zaariyaati zarwaa

فَٱلْحَٰمِلَٰتِ وِقْرًۭا2

And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]

Falhaamilaati wiqraa

فَٱلْجَٰرِيَٰتِ يُسْرًۭا3

And those [ships] sailing with ease

Faljaariyaati yusraa

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَٰتِ أَمْرًا4

And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter,

Falmuqassimaati amraa

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌۭ5

Indeed, what you are promised is true.

Innamaa too'adoona la-saadiq

وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ6

And indeed, the recompense is to occur.

Wa innad deena la waaqi'

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ7

By the heaven containing pathways,

Wassamaaa'i zaatil hubuk

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍۢ مُّخْتَلِفٍۢ8

Indeed, you are in differing speech.

Innakum lafee qawlim mukhtalif

يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ9

Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded.

Yu'faku 'anhu man ufik

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ10

Destroyed are the falsifiers

Qutilal kharraasoon

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍۢ سَاهُونَ11

Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless.

Allazeena hum fee ghamratin saahoon

يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ12

They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?"

Yas'aloona ayyaana yawmud Deen

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ13

[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire

Yawma hum 'alan naari yuftanoon

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ14

[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient."

Zooqoo fitnatakum haa zal lazee kuntum bihee tas ta'jiloon

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ15

Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

Innal muttaqeena fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon

ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ16

Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

Aakhizeena maaa aataahum Rabbuhum; innahum kaanoo qabla zaalika muhsineen

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ17

They used to sleep but little of the night,

kaanoo qaleelam minal laili maa yahja'oon

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ18

And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

Wa bilashaari hum yastaghfiroon

وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ19

And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.

Wa feee amwaalihim haqqul lissaaa'ili walmahroom

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ20

And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]

Wa fil ardi aayaatul lilmooqineen

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ21

And in yourselves. Then will you not see?

Wa feee anfusikum; afalaa tubsiroon

وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ22

And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised.

Wa fissamaaa'i rizqukum wa maa too'adoon

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ23

Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.

Fawa Rabbis samaaa'i wal ardi innahoo lahaqqum misla maa annakum tantiqoon

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ24

Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? -

Hal ataaka hadeesu daifi Ibraaheemal mukrameen

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا ۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٌۭ قَوْمٌۭ مُّنكَرُونَ25

When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown.

Iz dakhaloo 'alaihi faqaaloo salaaman qaala salaamun qawmum munkaroon

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍۢ سَمِينٍۢ26

Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf

Faraagha ilaaa ahlihee fajaaa'a bi'ijlin sameen

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ27

And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?"

Faqarrabahooo ilaihim qaala alaa taakuloon

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةًۭ ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ28

And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy.

Fa awjasa minhm khee fatan qaaloo laa takhaf wa bashsharoohu bighulaamin 'aleem

فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍۢ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌۭ29

And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!"

Fa aqbalatim ra-atuhoo fee sarratin fasakkat wajhahaa wa qaalat 'ajoozun 'aqeem

قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ30

They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing."

Qaaloo kazaaliki qaala Rabbuki innahoo huwal hakeemul 'aleem

۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ31

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?"

Qaala famaa khatbukum ayyuhal mursaloon

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ مُّجْرِمِينَ32

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

Qaalooo innaaa ursilnaaa ilaa qawmim mujrimeen

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن طِينٍۢ33

To send down upon them stones of clay,

Linursila 'alaihim hijaa ratam min teen

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ34

Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors."

Musawwamatan 'inda rabbika lilmusrifeen

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ35

So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers.

Fa akhrajnaa man kaana feehaa minal mu'mineen

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ36

And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.

Famaa wajadnaa feehaa ghaira baitim minal muslimeen

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ37

And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

Wa taraknaa feehaaa aayatal lillazeena yakhaafoonal 'azaabal aleem

وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ38

And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.

Wa fee Moosaaa iz arsalnaahu ilaa Fir'wna bisultaa nim mubeen

فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌۭ39

But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman."

Fatawalla biruknihee wa qaala saahirun aw majnoon

فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ40

So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.

Fa akhaznaahu wa junoo dahoo fanabaznaahum fil yammi wa huwa muleem

وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ41

And in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.

Wa fee 'Aadin iz arsalnaa 'alaihimur reehal'aqeem

مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ42

It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.

Maa tazaru min shai'in atat 'alaihi illaa ja'alat hu karrameem

وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ43

And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."

Wa fee Samooda iz qeela lahum tamatta''oo hattaa heen

فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ44

But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.

Fa'ataw 'an amri Rabbihim fa akhazal humus saa'iqatu wa hum yanzuroon

فَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍۢ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ45

And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.

Famas tataa'oo min qiyaaminw wa maa kaanoo muntasireen

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَٰسِقِينَ46

And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.

Wa qawma Noohim min qablu innahum kaano qawman faasiqeen

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ47

And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.

Wassamaaa'a banainaa haa bi aydinw wa innaa lamoosi'oon

وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَٰهِدُونَ48

And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.

Wal arda farashnaahaa fani'mal maahidoon

وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ49

And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.

Wa min kulli shai'in khalaqnaa zawjaini la'allakum tazakkaroon

فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ50

So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

Fafirrooo ilal laahi innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen

وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ51

And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.

Wa laa taj'aloo ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen

كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ52

Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."

Kazaalika maaa atal lazeena min qablihim mir Rasoolin illaa qaaloo saahirun aw majnoon

أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ53

Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.

Atawaasaw bih; bal hum qawmun taaghoon

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍۢ54

So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed.

Fatawalla 'anhum famaaa anta bimaloom

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ55

And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

Wa zakkir fa innaz zikraa tanfa'ul mu'mineen

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ56

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.

Wa maa khalaqtul jinna wal insa illaa liya'budoon

مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍۢ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ57

I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.

Maaa ureedu minhum mir rizqinw wa maaa ureedu anyyut'imoon

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ58

Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.

Innal laaha Huwar Razzaaqu Zul Quwwatil Mateen

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًۭا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ59

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.

Fa inna lillazeena zalamoo zanoobam misla zanoobi ashaabihim falaa yasta'jiloon

فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ60

And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.

Fawailul lillazeena kafaroo miny yawmihimul lazee yoo'adoon
